25 Parties!!!

How I got 25 Parties in less than a week

Step 1: I changed my attitude and became convinced that well coached parties with guest lists would be the key to moving my business to the next level! Part of this change came from watching Kristin Rodgers 2013 seminar speech (Which I highly recommend listening to, the link is below).

After watching Kristin's story I decided that PARTIES were for ME!
The next amazing opportunity I had was getting to listen to Kristin now Sharp she was recently married) host a conference call for the Top Gun Area Sales Directors (one of the reasons why you definitely want to become a Sales Director! We get this kind of training on a weekly basis! In the call Kristin gave more tips and details on how she has had incredible success with her skin care classes.
712-432-1090 (access code 595014# ) (reference number 199#)
After hearing this information I was ready to Rock'nRoll!
Step 2: Who was I going to contact to get these parties booked?
My Goal was to not stop until I got to 30 and then always keeping 30 parties on my books! I got a big poster board & number it 1-30 then I went to work making my lists.
List 1- I started with friends and family members who hadn't held a party for me recently. Some of them maybe had never held a party for me.
List 2-  I made by going through my entire Facebook list. I thought about husbands who had wives, woman in my religious circle, and generally anyone that I liked.

List 3 - My husband actually helped me with this list. He went through all of his Facebook friends and personally messaged them and asked them to help. When dealing with Facebook, you ALWAYS want to personally message them!
List 4 - I went through my customer list and chose my VERY best and FAVORITE customers to ask to hold a party for me.
List 5 - All of my other customers who I maybe have not connected with for a while, my goal with this group was to do customer service calls and texts to reconnect with them and set up a time to do a quick Holiday stop and shop or offer them a fabulous holiday make over with the intention of rekindling our relationship and then asking them to host a party to help me with my big goal.
List 6 - (this may not pertain to all consultants) With this list I went through terminated consultants or consultants on my team or unit who were maybe not interested in actively working their business and might be willing to either host a party to help me or earn awesome hostess incentives, or maybe to just book a quick stop and shop to show them new holiday items and rekindle our relationship.
List 7 - I went through any referrals, honoring working woman leads, and any surveys or leads that I had not recently worked with, with the intention of booking them for a Holliday makeover and then turning into a party.

Scripts and Verbiage I use to book my parties

You’ll want to change these scripts to fit your own personal goals.
What my husband said to his Facebook friends via personal Facebook message was:
Hey (So and so) ! How’s it going? I was wondering if I could ask a quick favor of you. My wife has been working hard in Mary Kay and has done really well the last few years. She currently has a goal to be the youngest Cadillac driving director in the state of Utah by Christmas. She recently just fell and dislocated her shoulder so I am trying to help out a little bit while she is recovering. I was wondering if you would be willing to help us out by letting my wife give you a quick free holiday makeover. In exchange for a $30 gift certificate towards any products you might like at your appointment. Let me know if your willing to help out, I would really appreciate it :D
Just a reminder when you are working with friends and family, they know you and they have a relationship with you. So when you "chit chat" with them, (maybe before asking them to help you) after asking them how they are and what's new, they will in turn ask you how you’re doing and what is new with you. This is the perfect opportunity to for you to tell them about what you’re working on in your Mary Kay business. Specifically the "money part of your goal" examples:
I'm doing great thanks! I've been working really hard in my Mary Kay business to earn extra money =) I'm surprising my husband with his dream vacation at the end of the year! =)
or... I'm trying to hold 10 more parties to finish earning the money to take my kids to Disney land of the first time!
THINK OF SOMETHING GOOD PEOPLE CAN RELATE TO!
Then and this is how I asked my friends, family and good customers to help me!
ME: Hi Susan! How are you doing? =) I love seeing all your cute pictures on facebook! What’s new with you? =)
SUSAN: My daughter got married so that was fun! =) I'm good, how are you?
ME: Oh how fun! I love weddings! =) I'm really great! Well except I dislocated my shoulder pretty bad last week ha ha but other than that great!
SUSAN: Oh no what happened that’s no fun! Anything I can do for you?
ME: Your so sweet! My husbands actually taking great care of me =) I'm lucky he was able to take some unpaid time off work =) I'm just trying to work my business more to make up for his income :) (money part of my script)
I actually do have a favor to ask;) I'm working on earning my pink Cadillac by Christmas which will make me the youngest Cadillac Driving Sales Director in the state of Utah ( cool right! ) and I was wondering if I could bribe you with 200$! In free Mary Kay to hold a party for me :) it would help me a ton! & I promise to spoil all your friends!
I also include my hostess flyer 200 for free

Click Here for a PDF version of this Flyer

Kristin gives several app ideas you can use to create your own flyers, but my favorite is photo grid it looks like this

Here's an example of changing the script to fit your goals:
I actually also have a favor to ask. I'm working on earning my first free car (Which is a red Chevy Cruz) in the next 4 weeks, which would make me the first free car driver in my unit! (cool right! ) And I was wondering if I could bribe you with $200 in free MaryKay to hold a party for me it would help me a ton! & I promise to spoil you and all your friends!
I love this Hostess incentive for a couple reasons. I get to offer more (who wouldn't want 200$ in free product from one of their favorite stores!) Next I get new customers with the outside orders without doing the work! Those outside orders are new customers, future reorders, and new people I can book parties with! It also shows me which of my hostesses are good sellers,  putting them on the radar for being a great addition to my mary kay team! I love that this hostess incentive makes them listen to the business opportunity as well! You are working full circle!
Here's a script for booking stop and shop apt with customers, and consultants that you are wanting to connect with again. these can be done all year long just put together a new roll up bag with newer, and current limited addition item to show her.
Hi Susan! How are you doing! It's been so long sense we caught up, I'm SO sorry!! I miss you & I'd love to pop by and say hi =) I can bring some brand new Mary Kay items & a current catalog with me as well to show you =) I have a darling gift for you too ;) When would be a good time for me to stop by?
Sometimes I chit-chat a bit first see what's new and how their doing with their product if their a customer.
After she says yes and sets a day and time with me I ask: Awesome! I'm so excited to see you!!! You’re going to love your gift!! If you have an extra 30 min I can give you a fabulous new makeover as well! Ill text u a pic of a new look you could try.
Get a picture of a fun look to text her at the same time for example.

When I get to the apt I tell her my goal and I have a hostess incentive flyer printed out to show her and ask her to hold a party for me.
Here's my favorite referral script:
Hi___________this is lynsie w/ MaryKay =) UR friend _______gave me UR # because she said U are super sweet & might be willing 2 help me out in a FUN contest I’m in 2 give 30 woman FREE microdermabrasion treatments in the next 4 weeks =) when I do I’m going to finish earning my 1st FREE MaryKay Car a RED Chevy Cruize (cool right!) If you’d be willing to help me out I will spoil U w/ a free mascara & 15$ Gift Card =) it’s FUN, FREE, & no obligation! Can I borrow UR cute face 4 this? I promise I’m really nice! =)
I have more details on working with roses leads & ladder bookings from referrals @
www.lynsiesnationaldivas.blogspot.com
After I booked the party & set a date and time, I gave her the option to do it like an open house style (where people can pop in at anytime) or for a sit down Holiday makeover party.
After she choose which one I asked her if most of her friends where on Facebook? If so I made a Facebook invite (do she can add her friends, I count this as my guest list and personally message her friends after she adds them) if she has any who are not on Facebook I ask the hostess to text me their cell number & last ask her if she has any friends who she would like me to send a post card too (sometime I get yes but mostly I text and Facebook to pre profile)
Next I edit the saved invitation I have (you can easily make your own by using photo grid app) and I set up the Facebook invite.  You can edit it after you make it and add your hostess to it making her hosts of the Facebook invite as well.
Here’s an example of my verbiage when I make the invite on Facebook
Holiday open house- Discription of the event:

Then I post the “invite” and change the picture to the invite (this must be done on a computer)

Click Here for a PUB version of this invite

After I make the Facebook invite I text my Hostess this:
Ok I just made the Facebook invite for you to add your friends too! =) Do you see it? Also here is the invite that you can text to your friends =)
Then text your hostess the invite you created.
After she adds her friends write down their names in a note book so you can keep track of who you’ve messaged.
Then I go to the guest list and click on each name then hit message (PERSONALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Then I sent a picture of the official invite and text each of the guest this (make sure you change their name and make it personal!)
Hi Angie!   I'm Lynsie Iverson, Marie's daughter in-law & MaryKay consultant
I'm sure you saw that you were invited to the holiday open house at her home this Thursday night Open from 6pm-9pm.
Marie was SO nice to host this fabulous open house to help me finish earning my first Pink Cadillac by Christmas, making me the youngest Cadillac Driving Sales Director in the state of utah (cool right!) I really want to spoil her guests and make that night the BEST shopping experience you've ever had, so I'm customizing really fabulous goodie bags for each guest!
Could I ask you a couple quick questions so that your in LOVE  with your goodie bag? The first one being, do you prefer lipstick or lip gloss better?
I hope your having a fabulous day!
After they text back which one I say
Perfect!  we're so excited to see you! I'll also take this as your rsvp & enter you into the drawing for the Holiday Glamor Package;)
One last question, if there was one thing you could change about your skin or your complexion what would it be?
Then they will tell me what it is… dark spots, dryness…ect
Go to youtube and find a MARY KAY APPROVED (WATCH IT FIRST) commercial clip and hit share…I hit share to text then copy and past and copy it into the message this this…
I hear that complaint quite a bit  we have a foundation primer that significantly reduces redness  it will also help your foundation to stay on better to cover any redness  I'll have that for you to try tomorrow we're so excited to see you!
Check out this link for more info on our foundation primer
 Mary Kay Foundation Primer: http://youtu.be/yQ6-1suFpVE

If they respond that they cant make it I say:
We’ll miss you! =) id be happy to pop by (or you can say to mail) at a more convenient time and give you your goodie bag and a catalog (no obligation to buy)  =) I decently want to spoil Melissa’s cute friends! =)
Then you can either send a catalog or schedule a stop and shop apt (which I turn into parties)
______________________________________________________________________________
Sometimes they’ll chit chat a bit after that but the next step comes the day before the party
I go through the guest list and if they either told me what they wanted or didn’t respond I message this:
Hi Luann =) I just finished your customized goodie bag  your going to love it! Remember if you bring a friend you get a 10$ gift certificate to use at the BEST shopping experience you've ever had! See you tomorrow!
And include a picture of their goodie bag. I edit their name on the tag using photo grid I take the picture first with a blank one. It’s the back of my business card.

That’s how I Booked & coached my parties!
Happy Bookings!
If you find mistakes sorry ;) I went through this fast, but I tried to give as many details as I could =)
Your success in Mary Kay is tied to you holding constantly 3 PARTIES a week!

Roll Up Bag Close

Class Close with the Rollup Bag
(Allison Cheney, Independent Senior Sales Director)

So, at the beginning of today we talked about having fun today and getting pampered. Right? And I forgot to tell you that you can only buy product today if you fell in love. So, how many of you fell in love with at least one thing? Did you love something? Yes, and now you want to know how to get it huh? Yes, ok, I thought so. I am going to share some fabulous prices with you and how you can get stuff for free. Who are my free girls again? Who likes free? Anyone? So, grab a pen you are going to want to take some notes (While passing out the closing sheet). Ok, so I am going to quickly walk through all of the products that we tried today. We tried a lot of things and I want to quickly jog your memory and if you have your favorites just put a star, circle, heart, whatever floats your boat cuz you might not remember all of the names.

Explain briefly all Sets on the Roll Up Bag Sheet

Now let me tell you about some of my specials today. Now first of all I have a free gift with purchase. Who can get excited about that? Has anyone ever bought something just for the gift with purchase? I have. Totally guilty. So what I have today is ______________(whatever the current gift with purchase is). So, $40 or more and that gift with purchase is yours today.

Some other specials that I have for you today.
Any 2 sets of your choice for $99.
So, it depends on which sets you choose will determine how much you save. So, for example if you start with the miracle set today, set 1 and set 2 you would save over $21 today depending on the foundation that you choose. So, 2 sets for $99, any 2 sets of your choice.
Any 4 sets of your choice for $199.
I have a little treat for you with 4 sets. Not only do you get a deal on the sets but I give you this $30 travel roll up bag for FREE! Yes, you can purchase this separately but why not get it for FREE when you can? So, you hang this on the back of your bedroom door, on your shower curtain rod.  It is Great for traveling and  it keeps all of my products safe. Nothing leaks and gets on my clothes . So, this is your travel bag for $30, again that’s yours for free with 4 or more sets and you are saving up to about $93 depending on which sets you choose. So, really good deal right? Yes.
Any 6 sets is $299 and of course you’re still going to get the FREE roll up bag.
And you are going to save up to about $124 depending on what sets you choose again. So, a lot of free stuff right? This is my theory. The more you buy the more you should get for free. I think everybody should adopt that theory. So, can you guys get excited about that? I do accept MasterCard, visa, discover and American Express and cash or check. Or you can do a little bit of everything if that’s what you need to do today. Just an option, just throwing it out there.

Six Secrets to Success

Six Secrets to Success

1. Good Bounce Back Ability: Resilience - Always believe that some good comes from everything. Look for the good in each facial, career chat, and party. Have a good attitude and a good sense of humor.
2. Turn Negative into Positive Immediately - For example, if something cancels at the last moment, make sure you do something positive right at that moment to take its place, like more booking calls.
3. Play the Games - Win everything! Play all the games! Allow the child in you to come out. Very few of us are $$$ motivated. The little things we do turn into big success in our business.
4. Work with Your Director - Call her hotline daily. Call her to crow when there is something amazing and call her to cry if things don’t go as planned. Call her for advice in your business and to brainstorm ideas. Never doubt that she cares for you and wants you to succeed. Make the effort to keep in contact with her and in turn she will become your mentor.
5. Have a Sense of Urgency - Do immediately what you know is right to do. Procrastination is NOT your friend. The task is not done until you finish it! Do what your Director tells you to do … the minute you hang up the phone!
6. Never Quit—Work until the last moment of the last hour of the last day for every goal you set. Even if you don’t reach the goal … YOU KNOW YOU DID YOUR  BEST!

***PLEASE NOTE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN #1 AND #2. The first is the positive  attitude and the second is what you do about it – the action you take. ***

Follow these guidelines. Be committed. Give your best effort. Work your business EVERY day and SUCCESS is waiting for you to take it!!!

Vision Statements

How to create your Vision Statement

What is a vision statement?
Your vision statement is a picture of what you want to be, do, feel, think, own, associate with, and impact in your life through your Mary Kay business. A vision statement is "big picture" thinking. It should be something you can aspire to -- and that should inspire you -- regardless of where you are now and the distance between the present and your vision. By putting your vision into words, you begin to set in motion a process through which you will eventually achieve your goal. It’s been scientifically proven that your written goals, dreams, and plans are accomplished at a higher rate than those that are not. Writing them down lends power and commitment to their accomplishment. A vision statement opens your eyes to what is possible and gives you something tangible to move toward. It is the shining light of hope, dedication and commitment as you overcome obstacles and grow towards success.

Things to keep in mind while preparing your vision statement:

Carve out a chunk of time. You are worth it! Set a date with yourself and stick to it. Dreaming & creating a vision cannot -- and should not -- be rushed, however the faster you do it, the faster you can have a powerful tool at your fingertips.

Be Patient. It's something that may take several efforts and false starts before things begin to clear and you start getting a grasp of your ideal future. Plus your vision statement can also change over time, so be flexible knowing that you do not need to plan for your entire life today. Keep working at it, it’s worth it.

Do not compare. The worst defeat is to say your vision statement isn’t good enough by comparing it to someone else’s. It’s YOUR vision statement. Use words that come easily to you since they will be the ones to evoke the most feeling and emotion. Plus, your values and priorities will be different than another person, for it to be the most effective it must come from you and not someone else.

Dare to Dream Again. Remember that with a vision statement anything should be possible, so find a way to turn off any negative vibes or logic filters that will block you from thinking big. Don't assume the future is locked to what is happening today. Live in your imagination, not in your circumstances.

Be Confident & Honest. You are the person that knows you best. Be confident in your strengths, talents and skills that you possess. Listen to your heart and don’t second guess yourself or try to mold to into what you think someone wants you to be.

Write in present tense & first person. Use words like I, me, & my. Plus, speak as if it is currently happening like “I am” and not “I will”.

Length is not important. It’s more important for you to fully articulate the vision you want for your life and future, than be limited by word count.

Question exploration to prepare to write your vision statement:
Thoughtfully prepare answers to the follow questions to direct you in creating your vision statement.

1. What are the 10 things you most enjoy doing? (Be honest. These are 10 things that without them your weeks, months, and years would feel incomplete.)
2. What 3 things must you do every single day to feel fulfilled in your work?
3. What are your 5-6 most important values?
4. If you never had to work another day in your life, how would you spend your time instead of working?
5. When your life is ending, what will you regret not doing, having, seeing or achieving?
6. What strengths do you see in yourself?
7. What strengths have other people commented on about you or your accomplishments?
8. What do you believe are your weaknesses?
9. What weaknesses have other people commented on about you?
10. Your life has a number of important facets or dimensions, all of which deserve some attention in your vision statement. Write one important goal for each of these areas: physical, spiritual, work or career, family, social relationships, financial, mental improvement and attention, and fun.

Create your vision statement:
Put it all together! Remember the guidelines above. Use a few sentences or paragraphs as you write your vision statement. Consider writing a vision statement along with a description of how you currently see yourself accomplishing it through your Mary Kay business. Keep writing and rewriting until you find the one that FEELS the best to you, inspires you and gives you the most emotion.

My own personal vision statement includes such items as having a positive impact on every person with whom I come in contact; living daily a life dedicated to integrity, commitment, challenge and joy; loving my husband and valuing my marriage; valuing my role as a leader in influencing others for good within my business; traveling the world to experience its richness; never having to worry about spending money on anything that I or others need/want.

Final Thoughts on Vision Statements
Without a vision statement to help guide you, it's like driving aimlessly on the highway without having a clear destination. It might be fun for a while to drive around, stopping wherever and whenever you like, but after a while, being on the road gets old. Once you develop your career vision, you can then start mapping out your journey -- at least you'll be heading to where you want to be, even if you have to take a few detours along the way.

Remember, as you go about the visioning process, do your best to avoid vision killers -- such as fear of ridicule, short-term thinking, too narrow focus, tradition-bound choices, or following someone else's career dream.

Once you've created your vision statement, plaster it in various places and read it and say it aloud often. Imagine yourself achieving your vision. Constantly reinforcing the image of you in your vision will help you both consciously and subconsciously develop goals and action steps that will lead you to success.

Finally, take into account that your vision can -- and most likely will -- change as you move closer to it. As part of an annual career planning process, you should review your vision statement and make any adjustments that you feel are necessary.
